No. A PDF document that has already been electronically signed cannot be used to start a new signing process within the Verified platform.  

Why doesn't it work?

When a document is digitally signed, it is sealed using the PAdES (PDF Advanced Electronic Signatures) standard. This cryptographic seal permanently locks the file to ensure its legal validity and to prevent any future tampering.  

If the platform allowed an already-signed file to be entered into a new transaction, the secondary signing process would alter the file, instantly breaking the original cryptographic envelope and invalidating the first set of signatures.  

What you should do instead

To send a document out for a new round of signatures, you must always upload the original, unsigned version of the file.

• Locate the master copy: Find the original version of the PDF from before any electronic signatures were applied.

• Start a new transaction: Set up a fresh process in your Verified dashboard.  

• Upload and send: Upload the clean, unsigned PDF file and add your new recipients.
