By default, the Verified platform requires a unique email address for each recipient in a transaction. However, if you need to send a document to multiple people who share an inbox, or to one person signing in different capacities (e.g., as an individual and as a company representative), you can use an email aliasing method known as "plus-addressing."

The "+Something" Method

Most modern email servers, including Gmail, Outlook.com, and Microsoft 365 allow you to insert a plus sign (+) and any keyword right before the @ symbol.

The mail server completely ignores everything after the plus sign when routing the message, meaning all emails sent to these aliases will land in the exact same primary inbox. However, Verified will recognize them as completely separate recipients.

Here is how you can format a single email address to create multiple unique recipients:

Example 1: Shared Personal Inbox

If a couple shares a single Gmail account but both need to sign a document individually, format their emails like this:

• Recipient 1: jane.smith@gmail.com

• Recipient 2: jane.smith+john@gmail.com

• Both notifications will arrive in the jane.smith@gmail.com inbox.

Example 2: Signing in Multiple Roles

If an executive needs to sign a document once as an individual and again on behalf of different departments:

• Role 1 (Sales): mark.anderson+sales@company.com

• Role 2 (Management): mark.anderson+management@company.com

• Role 3 (Personal): mark.anderson@company.com

• All signing links will go to Mark's primary corporate inbox.

⚠️ Important Considerations

• Check Corporate Mail Servers: While this trick works out-of-the-box for Gmail and Outlook, some custom or older corporate email servers have this feature disabled. If you are unsure, send a quick test email to your own address using the + format to see if it arrives.

• Distinct Signing Links: Even though the emails arrive in the same inbox, Verified generates completely separate, secure signing links for each variant. The recipient must click each link individually to complete their respective parts of the transaction.
