Verified Platform Glossary
Updated
Welcome to the Verified glossary. Whether you are a new sender setting up your first transaction or a recipient signing an agreement, this quick-reference guide breaks down the most common terms used across our platform.
| Term | Definition |
| Envelope | The digital "container" used to bundle one or more main documents and their supporting attachments into a single, trackable transaction sent to recipients. |
| Verified User (Sender) | An account holder on the Verified platform. Senders have access to the app dashboard to create, configure, dispatch, and track envelopes. |
| Recipient | Anyone added to an envelope by a sender. This includes Signers who must legally sign the files, as well as CC'd individuals who only receive copies for their records. |
| Signer | A specific type of recipient who is explicitly required to review and apply their digital signature to one or more main documents within an envelope. |
| Signing Method | The verification technology chosen by the sender to authenticate a signer's identity. Methods range from high-security national eIDs (BankID, MitID, FTN) to low-friction options (SMS, Email, Touch Sign). |
| Signing Order | The routing path an envelope takes. It can be Sequential (recipients must sign one-by-one in a strict numerical line) or Parallel (all recipients receive their links and can sign at the exact same time). |
| Rejecting | The formal action taken by a recipient to decline signing a document. Rejecting a file pauses or aborts the workflow, requires the recipient to provide an explanation, and instantly notifies all parties. |
💡 Did you know?
Once an Envelope has been fully executed by every Signer using their assigned Signing Method, it automatically seals itself into a tamper-evident PDF format called PAdES, which is universally recognized and legally binding across the EU and EFTA regions.
